After 2,5 months of silence in concert halls and museums, pianist Feico Deutekom and visual artist Johannes Bosgra will give one of the first socially distanced concerts on monday 1 June 12:30 hours on the initiative of concert hall De Meervaart in Amsterdam. The goal is to celebrate the end of the silence. Only 30 tickets will be available for this socially distanced concert. In this recital Feico Deutekom will play a selection of his favourites from the composers Philip Glass, Max Richter, Nils Frahm and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The video installation Stripes for Philip Glass: Facades by Johannes Bosgra will be projected during this concert.

Composer Philip Glass and pianist Feico Deutekom commissioned this video-installation to visual artist /photographer Johannes Bosgra. He tuned his minimal seascapes exactly to Feico Deutekom's new arrangement of Facades, to create a total environment that envelop the viewer in image and sound. This video-installation is part of the CD release Musical Offering by Feico Deutekom, released on Philip Glass his own composers label Orange Mountain Music. A seascape is used as album art on the single Facades and on the album Musical Offering. Pianist Feico Deutekom and visual artist Johannes Bosgra had planned a big tour for the release of the new album Musical Offering. Unfortunately this had to be postponed due to COVID 19. At home people did listen in great numbers to the CD, on Spotify the number of streams since the release now exceeds 500.000.

Johannes Bosgra had a full exhibition calendar in 2020 because he was winner of multiple art prizes in 2019, such as GUP New Dutch Photography Talent 2020 and the talent development project Verhalen in het Landschap. Johannes Bosgra: “I was very much looking forward to the many concerts with Feico and other great projects like the new videowork Verklärte Nacht in Museum Voorlinden, my solo exhibition at the IJsselbiënnale in the IJsselsalon Zutphen, artist talks at FryslânPhoto Festival and the FotoFabryk and participation of Makkum Art and Kunstweekend Beetsterzwaag. Fortunately everything can be postponed. It’s great that we can now organise a Glass concert with my video-installation again in the beautiful concert hall De Meervaart in Amsterdam.”

Na 2,5 maand stilte in concertzalen en musea organiseren pianist Feico Deutekom en kunstenaar Johannes Bosgra een van de eerste 1,5 meter concerten op 1 juni om 12:30 op initiatief van Theater de Meervaart in Amsterdam. Dit om het einde van de stilte in musea en concertzalen te vieren. Door de coronamaatregelen zijn slechts 30 bezoekers welkom. Feico Deutekom speelt muziek van de grote hedendaagse componisten Philip Glass, Max Richter, Nils Frahm en Ryuichi Sakamoto. Het videowerk Stripes for Philip Glass: Facades van Johannes Bosgra zal worden geprojecteerd tijdens het concert.

Componist Philip Glass en Feico Deutekom hebben kunstenaar Johannes Bosgra opdracht gegeven een videowerk te maken. Bosgra heeft zijn minimalistische zeegezichten exact afgestemd op het ritme en karakter van het nieuwe piano arrangement Façades van Glass, zodat de muzikale en beeldtaal gezamenlijk een audiovisuele ervaring creëren waarin het publiek wordt ondergedompeld. Dit videowerk is onderdeel van de nieuwe CD Muscial Offering van Feico Deutekom, uitgebracht op Philip Glass zijn composers label Orange Mountain Music in januari. Een zeegezicht van Bosgra is ook gebruikt in het ontwerp van de single Facades en het album Musical Offering. De grote tour voor de release van deze nieuwe CD moest door Corona helaas grotendeels worden uitgesteld. Thuis heeft iedereen wel in grote getale geluisterd naar deze nieuwe CD, met meer dan 500.000 streams op Spotify.

Doordat Johannes Bosgra in 2019 winnaar was van meerdere kunstprijzen zoals GUP New Dutch Photography Talent 2020 en talentontwikkelingsproject Verhalen in het Landschap had hij een overvolle tentoonstellingsagenda. Johannes Bosgra: “ Ik keek zeer uit naar de vele concerten met Feico en andere bijzondere projecten die allemaal zijn uitgesteld zoals de nieuwe video-installatie Verklärte Nacht in Museum Voorlinden, mijn solo-tentoonstelling bij de IJsselbiënnale in de IJsselsalon Zutphen, artist talks bij FryslânPhoto Festival en de FotoFabryk en deelname aan Makkum Art en Kunstweekend Beetsterzwaag. Gelukkig kan alles zoals het nu lijkt verplaatst worden. Het is geweldig dat we nu weer een Glass concert met mijn video-installatie kunnen organiseren in de mooie concertzaal van De Meervaart in Amsterdam.”

Er zijn slechts 30 kaarten verkrijgbaar voor dit 1,5 meter concert. De verkoop start vrijdag 22 mei om 10:00 uur via de website van De Meervaart.
